Nice Cubes offers the reassurance of baby food that is pure and free from yucky ingredients grown with synthetic chemicals, fertilizers or pesticides. The concern about babies is that their immature systems are more vulnerable to toxins in their diet than adults. Because of their rapidly growing brains and organs, they eat more food for their size than adults do, which exposes them to higher concentrations of pesticides in non-organic foods
All of our products are certified organic by Oregon Tilth. Our suppliers and growers are well established, certified organic businesses and abide by strict certifying standards.
Methods of processing and preserving of shelf stable baby foods, expose the ingredients to extreme levels of heat, breaking down the nutrients, and overall flavor of the food. Freezing locks in the natural fresh flavors, nutrients and colors of real wholesome foods.
We want babies to experience the real flavors of fruits and vegetables that come from a garden.
Support frozen! It’s cool.
Babies are ready to start solid foods at around 6 months of age, give or take a month. Signs that your baby is ready will include sitting up with little support, putting everything in reach into the mouth, and watching you with interest as you eat. At first your baby may seem to just spit out everything that hits their tongue. Start with thinned rice cereal, and over time let your baby practice until s/he can move a dab to the back of the tongue and swallow it! This may take some time. If your baby’s first words are, “Nice Cubes, please.” Then they are most likely ready.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends starting with iron-fortified rice cereal because it’s easy to digest and provides the iron your baby needs. Another reason to start with rice cereal is because at 4 to 6 months of age your baby’s digestive system is still developing and is better able to tolerate plain rice cereal, making an allergic reaction less likely.
When your baby eats a total of about 6 tablespoons of rice cereal at a feeding, it’s time to introduce another cereal (such as oat or barley). Then your baby will be ready for yummy pureed vegetables and fruits and then combinations of cereals with fruit and vegetables, such as those offered in Nice Cubes 7 Months+.
If your baby does not take to a new flavor right away, try again later that day or later in the week. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get used to a flavor, as baby learns the wonderful varieties of new tastes!
